Animal Control440 Third Street Room 400 Columbus, IN 47201 About UsThe Bartholomew County Animal Control Department works with our community to address problems related to pet overpopulation, and to promote responsible pet ownership. Animal Control encourages and facilitates in the adoption of pets, and enforces ordinances and laws regarding animal-related issues. Animal Control responds to calls from the community where they must capture vicious or dangerous animals, rescue trapped or injured animals, and pick up abandoned or stray animals and transport them appropriately. They must work along side law enforcement agencies to facilitate them during investigations. Animal Control is often called in to retrieve animals from arrested owners, car accidents, and other emergency situations. Bartholomew County Animal Control is charged with care and management of animal issues within Bartholomew County. Animal Control aids in housing and care for abandoned and roaming domestic pets, animal neglect as well as investigating bites, in an effort to ensure the safety of the citizens and pets alike in our community. |
