1. When will Reassessment be completed in Bartholomew County?
 

We are expecting the Reassessment to be completed by early fall.  Back
 

2. Where do I file my mortgage and homestead exemptions?
  Both are filed in the Auditor's office.   Back
 
3. I feel something is not correct about my property assessment, what can I do?
  Come into the Assessor's office and get a copy of your property record card. We will go over the card with you. If there are any errors, we can make the appropriate changes that are necessary.   Back
 
4. If I remove any buildings on my property, should I notify your office about this?
  Yes! You need to contact our office to make the necessary changes. It would reduce your assessed values.  Back
 
5. If I put up a new building without a permit should I contact the Assessor's office?
  Yes! This will keep your property record up to date and accurate.   Back
 
6. Does your office still have to be present to open lock boxes for an estate?
  No! The legislature changed the law for July 1, 2000 that our office no longer would be required to check lock boxes.  Back
