Bartholomew Circuit Court is situated in the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Indiana. Each district began with a circuit court. As case loads increased, courts were added. Bartholomew County has increased to include a Superior Court 1 and Superior Court 2. Circuit Court has jurisdiction over civil, tort, plenary, criminal, adoption, guardianship, trust, estates, domestic relations, protective orders, and juvenile matters. Also the Circuit Court Judge is responsible for the Youth Services Center, Detention, Shelter and Day Treatment. The purpose of Circuit Court is to serve the people of Bartholomew County according to the constitutions and laws of the State of Indiana and United States. The employees provide services for the citizens of Bartholomew County with excellence, integrity and experience in the court system.
