Introduction

Biohazard
  • Funding has been provided to Indiana's local health departments by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to support public health preparedness activities.
  • The funding will be used to help build our public health infrastructure by supporting planning efforts in the State of Indiana.
  • Indiana has been divided into 10 Preparedness Districts in order to facilitate regional planning among counties.
  • Bartholomew County lies within District 8, which also includes Brown, Jackson, Monroe, Lawrence, Orange, and Washington Counties.
  • Written plans will guide our response to an intentional or naturally occurring public health emergency and coordinate activities among counties within the District.
  • Currently, Bartholomew County is developing plans for mass prophylaxis, receipt of emergency supplies and pandemic influenza preparedness.
