E.R. Gray, III

A registered land surveyor, E.R. has been the County Surveyor since 1984. He has over 33 years of surveying experience in Bartholomew County. E.R. is active in several organizations including the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors, Indiana County Surveyors Association, and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. He served 8 years on the Indiana State Board of Registration for Land Surveyors.

Tom R. Finke

Tom graduated in 1979 from Valparaiso University with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. He has been the Department Head of the Hydrology Division since coming to the Surveyor’s Office in 1986. He represents the Surveyor’s Office on the County Plan Commission and currently serves as Chairman of the Plat Committee. Tom is a lifetime resident of Bartholomew county.

Administrative Assistant
Cris L.E. West

She has been the Administrative Assistant since 1996. She oversees the management of the office and has taken on the special project of documenting the location of all of the burial sites in the county.

Ray Sheldon

Ray graduated from Columbus East High School in 1974. He spent three years in the Marine Corps and completed a Business Certificate from IUPUC in 1984. Ray became interested in surveying in 1993. He started employment with the Bartholomew County Surveyors Office in July 1998 as a Field Crew Member. In 1999 he became the LIS–GIS Technician and in 2000 he became the Head of the Field Surveys Division. Ray is active with several caving organizations and is currently a member of the Indiana Cave Survey.

Gary L. Settle

Gary has been with County Surveyor’s Office since 1979. He has 25 Years of land surveying experience and has also completed AutoCAD Training and an AutoCAD Level I class.

Mark S. Case

Mark started with our office in July of 2005. He is a member of the County Fair Board and has experience in construction and field work.

Head of GIS Mapping Division
Jeff L. Lucas

Jeff currently serves as GIS Coordinator for Bartholomew County. He has worked in the County Surveyor’s Office since 1979. Jeff is certified as a Level III Survey Technician by the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. He had experience in both the Hydrology and Survey departments before taking on the responsibility of Mapping Coordinator in 1990.

Senior Mapper
Daniel P. Rice

Danny Rice began working at the Surveyor’s Office in 1981. He has a B.S. in Land Surveying, A.A.S. in Construction Technology and has taken the Level 1 AutoCAD class.

GIS Technician
Greg L. Dibble

Greg Dibble started with our office as a Field Crew Member in 1999. On June 20, 2005 he was promoted to LIS–GIS Technician. He has 6 Years of aerial surveying experience, 10 years of land surveying experience and 8 years of CAD Drafting experience.
